About Us
OMOIDE is a program of the JCCCW (Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington). We meet at the JCCCW off Rainier, 1414 S. Weller, once a month on the 3rd Saturday: 1- 4p. Everyone and anyone is invited, but the subject is “memories related to the Japanese In America incidents”.
Participants read their stories, followed by a group discussions of “Something noteworthy in the story or writing” and we have a coach that is available for help with editing! Someone started the idea of bringing snacks to share, years ago, that we continue to enjoy. We hook up the hot pot for tea and take time for connecting and visiting.
